An 18-year-old boy has been arrested for ramming his car into a petrol pump, injuring two in Mulund area on Sunday at around 2 am.

An 18-year-old boy has been arrested for ramming his car into a petrol pump, injuring two in Mulund area on Sunday at around 2 am.

Accused Harsh Jain, a resident of Lalbaug, was alone in the car. According to the police, he could not control the speed of the car and rammed into the petrol pump and injured two workers.

According to complainant Vaktar Dolare, who is in charge of the petrol pump, he had left for home at around 9 pm and handed everything over to his brother and two employees. Around 2 am he got a call from his brother informing him about the accident.

Harsh had tried to flee from the scene of the crime when two of the petrol pump owner’s brothers restrained him and handed him over to the police.

A Navghar police official said, “Harsh is a college-going boy. His parents didn’t know that he came to Mulund on the way from home to drive the car. We have done his medical test and the report will be out soon so we will get idea whether he was driving under influence of alcohol or not. The injured have been admitted to the hospital and their condition is stable. ”
