A teacher of a private school was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 11-year-old boy in Digras in the district, the police said on Sunday.
Following a complaint by the victim's family on Friday, the 25-year-old teacher, Nilesh Badukale, was apprehended on Saturday, said Shivaji Bethate, station officer, Digras police station.
The victim used to go to the teacher for private coaching. Badukale, on the pretext of promising higher marks in the examination and making him the captain of the class, sexually assaulted the boy near the coaching centre on Friday, the officer said.
As per Mr Bethate, the boy narrated his ordeal to his parents, following which he was taken to a hospital. It was medically confirmed that the boy was sexually assaulted. A case under section 377 of IPC (unnatural Offences) was registered, the police said, adding investigations are underway.
