To strengthen the security of maximum city, the state government has installed highly equipped and standard CCTV cameras at important places across city. These cameras will monitor each and every suspicious movement in the city and will help the Mumbai police keep a tab on anti-social activities.
“Since 2009, members demanded installation of CCTVs across the city during every assembly session. Last year, we took serious steps and installed 4,717 CCTV cameras at 1,510 places,” said chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, while inaugurating the programme.
Considering the geographical distance of Mumbai, there was need for installation of CCTV cameras. The CCTV cameras will reduce pressure on the already stressed Mumbai police. The CCTV cameras will also help the traffic department book those who break rules.
