They have been on a dharna at Azad Maidan, demanding better working conditions and an end to harassment within the police ranks. Amongst other demands, they have asked for maximum of eight to 10 hours shifts as opposed to the long hours they put in, which not only affects their health but also their family life. Shaina met the family and convinced them that they should not resort to fasting and instead took some of the police karmachari’s wives to chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to voice their complaints and demands. She later went to Azad Maidan along with minister Ram Shinde and convinced Yashashree to break the fast, offering fruit juice to her four-year-old daughter. Mr Fadnavis said that he would definitely look into the issues addressed.
