While the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has issued threats to Pakistani artistes to leave the country, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Abu Asim Azmi has challenged its party chief Raj Thackeray to “send suicide bombers to Pakistan instead of intimidating their people here,” if he has the “guts” for it.
Calling Mr Thackeray ‘a small leader,’ whose reach is limited only to Maharashtra, the SP leader said, “If Pakistan is sending suicide squads (fidayeen) to India, then you should also send your suicide bombers to Lahore and Karachi to fight against them.”
“Forget about Pakistan. You are a small leader and your reach is limited to Maharashtra only. Today Naxals are attacking policemen in Gadchiroli and Chandrapur, and if you are unable to do anything in Pakistan, then you should send your activists in Maharashtra to save our security forces,” said Mr Azmi, who is also the SP chief for Maharashtra.
In the backdrop of the Uri terror attacks, the MNS on Friday had asked the Pakistani artistes to leave the country immediately.
“Raj Thackeray should stop intimidating Pakistani people who have come to India legally on an Indian visa. If he has the potential, he should go to Delhi and shut down the Pakistan Embassy. He should also stop the Indian Embassy in Pakistan from granting visas to people to visit India,” said Mr Azmi.
