Retiring top cop to pen book on experience after 36 years in force
Mumbai police commissioner, director general Ahmad Javed said he intends to write a book sharing all the insights and vast experiences he gathered in his career spanning 36 years.
When asked what experiences will be shared in the book Mr Javed said, “It will include memorable experiences including one when I was posted in Delhi. At the time, our Prime Minister (Indira Gandhi) was assassinated. It will also include my postings in Mumbai when the bomb blasts occurred and some humorous and not-so-humorous experiences while working in the force. I will keep it short”.
The outgoing commissioner, however, did not state when he would start work on the book.
When asked what memories he will take back from the force, the commissioner said, “I cherish all the messages I have received from my colleagues and subordinates in the force. I have got a lot of love from them, which has been the key to all my success. It has been a wonderful experience working as Mumbai CP. Mumbai is the greatest city and I have been part of the finest force. I feel honoured and grateful. It will be a rich experience to work as ambassador to Saudi Arabia.”
