With medical investigations revealing that Pratyusha Banerjee was pregnant before committing suicide and reports confirming her pregnancy, Rahul Raj Singh’s ex-lawyer, Niraj Gupta, claimed that he suspects Pratyusha’s was not a suicide but murder as she always wanted to have a baby while Rahul was not prepared for it.
Mr Gupta alleged that either Rahul’s attitude led to Pratyusha’s suicide or he killed her. The lawyer said that in Pratyusha’s case, the possibility of murder could not be ruled out, especially after reports confirming her pregnancy.
Meanwhile, Rahul, while at Bangur Nagar police station, told the media, “Pratyusha was not pregnant. Everyone is attributing it to sources. Has anyone interviewed the doctor in question ” The police sources informed that there was a premature death of the foetal cells, which raised the question whether the actor had opted for an abortion or the cells had been damaged due to some other reason.
Mr Gupta, who is now representing Pratyusha’s family, said, “Her pregnancy is the evidence that Rahul was avoiding marriage.” He again raised doubts as to how Pratyusha, who was supposed to have been drinking the whole night, could tie a noose and hang herself.
In the interim, Rahul broke his silence on Tuesday and after giving a statement to the Bangur Nagar police, told the media, “I still feel that that Pratyusha has gone to one of her friends’ places and I should call her and ask her to come back. Only when I come to the police station does it dawn upon me that she is not there.” Rahul further questioned as to why Pratyusha’s parents had not said anything derogatory about him in their first statement. “Some publicity freaks are influencing them and hence, they are leveling allegations at me,” he said. He further said that Pratyusha was in debt and had not paid her EMIs and was depressed owing to financial issues while her parents were handling her money.
Rahul’s aunt, Neelam Guha, told this newspaper that Rahul is still in trauma.
