A sessions court on Friday rejected the anticipatory bail application filed by Ravikiran Aggarwal, promoter of Orbit Residency Park at Saki Naka, who allegedly cheated a client to the tune of Rs 2.53 crore. The application was rejected by sessions judge J.C. Jagdale.

On the same day, a court extended the police custody of Ravikiran’s son Pujit, MD and CEO of Orbit Constructions, till September 20. According to sources, the police had sought extension in Pujit’s custody on the ground that he is not co-operating in the investigation.

Arguing in the court on Friday, the police said Pujit had allegedly taken a finance of Rs 260 crore for a housing project. However, he spent only Rs 178 crore on the project. Police added that over 34 investors have come forward with their complaints.

The police stated that they are on a money trail and have even searched Aggarwal’s premises. But since he was not co-operating, they needed his further custody.
