Family and friends of producer Rahul Raj Singh, boyfriend of the late actress Pratyusha Banerjee, have submitted documents in the court to “prove” that Pratyusha and Rahul were on good terms.

A close friend of Rahul, while talking to this newspaper, said, “We have arranged payment receipt for Power Couple show, where the couple worked together recently, and have also attached a few pictures to inform the judiciary that the couple was happy together, and Rahul was spending good amount of money on Pratyusha.”
The documents which were submitted in the court contain payment receipt for the Power Couple show and as per the receipt, Pratyusha kept Rs 2.37 lakh with her, while Rahul kept only Rs 10,000 with him.
“It shows that Rahul was spending on her and he never used to take her money,” said a friend.
According to these friends, two days before her death Pratyusha had partied with Rahul in a hotel in Malad area, and on March 24, during a Holi celebration party she told other actors that she is happy with Rahul and enjoying her life. A night before her death, Rahul had brought one of his friend home and Pratyusha partied with them till 8.30 am on April 1.
Meanwhile, the police will oppose the anticipatory bail of Rahul in the high court. According to police officials, they need to arrest Rahul as they need to interrogate him thoroughly.
Officials are planning to ask Rahul if any suicide note was seen at the spot, and what was the trigger for her to commit suicide. According to police sources, on the day of Pratyusha’s suicide, when Rahul was out, he had been in touch with her on phone and officials want to know what they spook minutes before the suicide.
As per HC’s order, Rahul has to visit the Bangur nagar police station everyday. Officials have asked Rahul about his relationship with Pratyusha, where they stayed, how much they earned, among others. However, officials insist they need custodial investigation of Rahul and apply for his arrest warrant.
