Two weeks after the Brihanmumbai Mumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) registered an FIR against comedian Kapil Sharma and actor Irrfan Khan for allegedly making illegal structural changes in their respective homes, the police on Sunday issued fresh summons to Mr Sharma. Mr Sharma will have to present himself for questioning at the Oshiwara police station within a week, beginning Sunday.

Sources revealed that a report pertaining to Mr Sharma’s alleged irregularities is being prepared and will include his statement. Mr Khan and four other residents who also had cases registered against them will also be summoned.

The Oshiwara police conducted a panchnama of Mr Sharma’s house at DLH Enclave at Goregaon village, near Oshiwara New Link road. The police took a video of Mr Sharma’s house and thoroughly checked all the rooms. While Mr Sharma has a house on the ninth floor, Mr Khan has a flat on the fifth floor of the same building. “The report is complete and we have asked Sharma to appear before us,” said a senior officer from Oshiwara police station. He added that Mr Sharma was summoned last week but was out of the country.

Apart from Mr Sharma, the police is also looking at four other houses in the building. The FIR registered by BMC was against a total of six people — a man who owns a flat on the 16th floor flat, Mr Gurdeep Narang (4th floor), Ms Sara Maini who owns a house in the adjoining tower. The last FIR is against the developer m/s Dev Land who also owns an apartment in the same building.
