‘PM must give Pak eet ka jawab patthar se’
Ramdev also said India needs to adopt the path of peace and revolution at the same time
Echoing Shiv Sena over its stand against Pakistan, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to take serious steps against Pakistan as India’s morale has taken a hit due to some incidents in the past that were caused by the neighbouring country.
Speaking over the Ram temple issue, Ramdev said that the whole country knows that Prophet Mohammed was not born in Ayodhya and that the issue should not be politicised.“Modiji should give Pakistan ‘eet ka jawab patthar se.’ If they kill two of our people, ten people of theirs should be killed, at the same time peace talks should continue. We need to adopt the path of peace and revolution at the same time and show large heartedness and braveness as well,” Ramdev said while addressing reporters in Mumbai on Saturday.
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surprise visit to Pakistan, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had said that India should not have any talks with “this dangerous country that promotes terrorism”. However, he had also added that it was not a crime for PMs to talk to PMs of other countries. “In the past too, Prime Ministers, including Atalji (Behari Vajpayee), had gone to Pakistan. But has anything changed in all these years ” he had questioned.
Expressing similar views, Ramdev said, “India is neither weak nor are we scared of anybody. But, the morale of the nation has taken a hit due to some incidents of the past. Grave steps should be taken against Pakistan.”
He further said that Lord Ram is the pride of the nation and that there should be no controversies regarding him. “People consider Lord Ram as an example and he is known as the pride of the country. Thus, the (Ram temple) issue should not be politicised and there should be no controversies on Lord Ram, who is considered to be the nation’s pride. Everybody knows Prophet Mohammed was not born in Ayodhya, but Lord Ram was,” he said.
The yoga guru also said that there is no communal intolerance in the country but an intolerance of thoughts and politics. “Once this intolerance ends, there will be complete peace in the country. The Constitution provides us with some fundamental rights through which we can raise our voice. Stifling that voice is the intolerance of thoughts and politics,” Ramdev said.
