A Nigerian killed his compatriot friend in Nallasopara in a fit of rage on Sunday morning.

A Nigerian killed his compatriot friend in Nallasopara in a fit of rage on Sunday morning. According to the police, both the Nigerians are students and resided in a flat number 205 on the third floor of Mahesh Welfare Society near Sitaram Compound Road in Nallasopara, along with another Nigerian for the past one year.

The motive of the murder has not been established and investigations are on.

The police has booked the accused Chukwuma Michael Nwabu under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code. He will be produced in the court on Monday, while the body of the deceased Durumchukwu Obino Michael was sent for autopsy after a panchnama was conducted.

According to police sources, the incident took place around 9 am on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday night, they had a house party as Durumchukwu was celebrating his birthday on March 5. Their friends

living in the area had visited the flat for the party and consumed alcohol all night.

Both the accused and the deceased had a quarrel under the influence of alcohol and Chukwuma flung an empty glass bottle at Durumchukwu. The bottle hit the wall and broke into pieces. After this, Chukwuma took a broken glass and slit Durumchukwu’s throat, which lead to his death on the spot.

One of their friends, who was sleeping in another room, woke up and rushed to the spot to find the body of Durumchukwu lying in a pool of blood. Locals informed the police about the incident immediately.

The police arrested Chukwuma from the fourth floor of the building.
