If you stop your vehicles for more than five minutes on the road opposite the Mumbai International Airport, you need to pay Rs 110. The rule came into force from last week.
This road is opposite the international airport terminal building, near the drainage. The terminal building has a multi-level parking building next to it. But, here parking is not free. According to the officials, several people avoid the parking building and park on the road to dodge the fees, but this led to traffic jams on the road, which is actually meant for Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport buses to drop passengers at the terminal. Passengers, however, have not taken to the new rule. One of them, Mohit Joshi, said, “The parking fee is very high, and sometimes off-loading baggage from the car takes a little time and we have to pay Rs 110, which is unfair.”
