NEET I, II results out; 4.09 lakh qualify

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the combined National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results for undergraduate courses on Tuesday.

The council held the NEET exams on May 1 and July 24 and the declaration of the combined results is in compliance with the Supreme Court order regarding the same.

According to a statement issued by the board, a total of 7.31 lakh students appeared for both the NEET exams from all over India, and 4.09 lakh students qualified for admissions to medical and dental colleges all over the country. Apart from this, 19,325 students qualified for the 15-per cent all-India quota seats in medical and dental colleges.

In Maharashtra, while admissions to the government-run medical and dental colleges have been done on the basis of the MH-CET conducted by the state CET cell, admissions to private colleges will be done through the NEET results.

NEET-I was conducted at 1,040 centres in 52 cities all over India and abroad and NEET-II was conducted at 739 centres in 56 cities in India.

Het Shah was the top ranker with a score of 685 marks out of 720, followed by Ekansh Goyal, who scored 682 marks, and Nikhil Bajiya, who scored 678. The details and schedule of counselling will be available on the websites of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Medical Education Directorates of States, Armed Forces Medical College and the institutions and universities concerned.
