Kiran Pawaskar says Maharashtra CM misled House
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) legislator has accused chief minister Devendra Fadnavis of misleading the House over the claims that the state government has not received any funds from the Dance

The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) legislator has accused chief minister Devendra Fadnavis of misleading the House over the claims that the state government has not received any funds from the Dance Bar Association.
“A person holding a constitutional post cannot mislead the people,” said NCP MLS Kiran Pawaskar in the state Legislative Council on Thursday, while speaking in a debate over the motion of Thanks on Governor’s address to the joint session of Maharashtra Legislature.
Leader of Opposition Dhananjay Munde, while raising a supplementary question during the Question Hour on March 11, had asked if the government has received any funds from the Dance Bar Association. Replying to him, Mr Fadnavis had denied that the government had received any funds from them.
However, Mr Pawaskar said that the chief minister had a few months ago accepted a cheque of Rs 20 lakh for the CM’s Relief Fund from the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association. He also claimed to have documentary evidence for this.
“There is evidence that the CM did accept a cheque of Rs 20 lakh from the Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association which has been supporting the Dance Bar Association that has gone to various courts against the state government,” he added.
Mr Pawaskar also slammed the BJP and the Shiv Sena for lack of co-ordination in the state government. “There is a difference of opinion in both parties on issues like a separate statehood for Vidarbha and Jaitapur nuclear plant. The government is only using the governor to spread misinformation,” he alleged.
