Model and actor Shruti Yugal on Tuesday registered a complaint with the cyber crime police after her iCloud account was allegedly hacked a person identifying as ‘Hari Menon’. The accused had signed in on her account and said “Hi”, informing her that he would not harm her.

Ms Yugal, a resident of Versova, in late January suddenly got a message from an unknown person stating that he had hacked into her account, as he liked her pictures. He has accessed to all-important documents, contacts and pictures.

Speaking about the case, an officer from the cyber crime cell said, “She opened an iCloud account in June last year. There are several pictures, documents and contact on it. On January 20 she received the first mail on Gmail stating that someone was trying to sign into her iCloud account and she should, therefore, change her settings and password. Later that day, she changed the password.

The next day, she again received another such email, after which she got worried and thought about approaching the police. That night, however, she received a WhatsApp message from ‘Hari Menon’, stating, “You have pretty hot pictures and I have access to all. I wanted your pictures and yesterday night I was drunk and therefore I hacked in your account, but you don’t worry I wont misuse it (sic).”

Ms Yugal, who knew an individual called Hari Menon, called him up to ask him if it were a prank, but he said he was not involved. The cyber crime cell registered a complaint against an unknown person.

DCP cyber police Raj Kumar, speaking about the case, said, “We are investigating the matter. For this case we have to trace the accused’s IP address.

We have registered a case under the IT Act. We are trying to take help from iCloud.”
