Metro-1 smart card users to get discounts at 200 outlets

The Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) will offer shopping discounts in around 200 outlets of various brands around the city for commuters who use smart card for travelling on the Versova-Andheri-Ghatkopar Metro-1 corridor.

The offer will be launched on Wednesday, which is the second anniversary of the Metro-1 where a loyalty reward will be unveiled for smart card users. The idea is to offer discount ranging from 10 per cent to 50 per cent for a commuter who shops from the 200 brands with whom the MMOPL has tied-up.

There are around six lakh smart card holders and the MMOPL hopes that the numbers will increase after such an offer. In order to avail this offer, a commuter has to download Advantage Club app from the Google play store and register using his/her metro card number.

The loyalty programme was earlier launched on a trial basis in June 2015, with Mumbai Metro tying up with 16 retail outlets and brands in the vicinity of the Metro corridor. As the scheme received an enthusiastic response, MMOPL added more than 50 retail outlets within a year

“Now, MMOPL has expanded the basket to bring even more consumer products and services categories under it,” an MMOPL official said.

He further, added, “Such initiatives are meant to expose the commuters to the full range of offers and discounts available to them at the 200 outlets covered under the scheme around not just the Metro stations but across Mumbai so that they can make their shopping or eating out plans in advance and avail the full benefit on the offer at the affiliated stores and brands.”
