D.N. Nagar police of Andheri arrested 40-year-old Lakshman Lingppa Dhangar in connection with the murder of his wife Lakshmi and their two-year-old son, Akil.
D.N. Nagar police of Andheri arrested 40-year-old Lakshman Lingppa Dhangar in connection with the murder of his wife Lakshmi and their two-year-old son, Akil.
According to police officials, the reason behind the double murder was Lakshman’s belief that Laxmi was having an extra marital affair. Lakshmi’s body was recovered on August 12 from the wireless compound area in Dhangarwadi.
Police officials said that Lakshman has approached D.N. Nagar police on August 6 and filed a missing complaint saying that after a domestic fight, Lakshmi and her son left the house.
In the meantime, D.N. Nagar police came to know from Juhu police that Akil’s body was found by the latter on Wednesday. Akil’s primary autopsy report revealed that he was murdered and died late night of August 5. Police detained Lakshman and interrogated him, during which time he revealed that he suspected Lakshmi was having an extra marital affair and thus, after a fight with her on August 6, killed her and Akil, and decided to dump their bodies at separate places. “Later, he moved to the police station and filed their missing complaint. In the complaint, he had stated that after a domestic fight, Laksmi left the house with Akil,” said a police official.
Lakshman has been married thrice. First, he married Jamullama and her sister Parvati at his native place in Karnataka. Later, he married Aashmma. On July 6, Parvati, along with her two-year-old son Akil went missing from this house in Juhu Galli. Parvati was working in Malad in a workshop, and as Lakshman had three wives, he used to spend time with all three at regular intervals. Due to his irregular communication with Lakshmi, he suspected she was having an extra marital affair with a young man and that often led to fights within the household.
