Jiah kin to release more evidence
After filing a petition in the Bombay high court demanding a CBI inquiry into the death of actress Jiah Khan, her family will be “releasing” more evidence in the case related to the death of Jiah. The family has claimed that she was murdered and did not commit suicide. Jiah’s family, through their advocate Dinesh Tiwari, has now released a CD, which shows Jiah before the murder without the ligature marks on her neck. The footage has been taken through a CCTV outside Jiah’s flat where she hanged herself. While talking to this newspaper, Mr Tiwari alleged, “The police hasn’t carried it (investigation) in a scientific way. It has just been like a formality. If not the CBI, we will be happy even if the CID investigates into the matter.” He said that while Jiah and Sooraj were talking a lot on the phone before their death, the police has still not revealed the nature of their conversations. The footage shows the actor entering the building at around 10.48 pm. “The footage clearly shows that there were no marks on Jiah’s neck when she entered the building, however, there were ligature marks on her neck after her death. This means that someone else came to the flat between the time she entered the flat and when she was found dead at around midnight,” he said. The lawyer further said that the CCTV footage was important because it also showed Jiah “normal” and “happy” when she entered the building. “How can she become depressed within an hour ” he asked. He added that the family would wait for the Mumbai police to file their say in the Bombay HC after which they would release more evidence in the case. Importantly, the family also wants the police to investigate and reveal where Sooraj was when Jiah died. “We want the police to find through cellphone locations where Suraj was when Jiah died,” said Mr Tiwari.
