Jat stir: Train schedule yet to normalise

Commuters on the Western Railway (WR) have been affected by the Jat agitation again as four trains were cancelled on Thursday and Friday.

The WR has roughly seen around 20 cancellations as a result of the agitation since last week. The trains to be cancelled are 19307 Indore-Chandigarh Express and 19269 Porbandar- Muzaffarpur Motihari Express on February 25 and the 19409 Ahmedabad- Gorakhpur Express and 19565 Okha- Dehradun Uttaranchal Express on February 26.

Commuter Dinesh Shah (25), a resident of Borivali, said that he was waiting for the situation to normalise. He was to travel by the August Kranti Express that was cancelled a few days ago. “I prefer this train because it’s clean and punctual and I was hopeful that the issue would normalise,” he said.

Due to the cancellations, a single trip of Rajdhani Express Special Train between Madgaon and H. Nizamuddin (via Vasai Road) will be run. Train number 02413 Madgaon-H. Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express Special will depart from Madgaon at 10.05 am on Thursday, i.e. February 25 and will arrive at Vasai Road at 7.35 pm and reach H. Nizamuddin at 12.40 pm, the next day i.e Friday. The train will halt at Thivim, Kudal, Ratnagiri, Panvel, Vasai Road, Surat, Vadodara Jn. and Kota Jn stations.

The train will have AC III Tier, AC II Tier& AC First-class coaches.
