Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday pulled up officials for delay in all the major infrastructure projects, including, Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL), Navi Mumbai Airport, Metro III, elevated Metro and irrigation projects. In a review meeting of ‘war room’, the CM carefully checked the progress of all the major projects of urban development, environment and irrigation departments giving his remarks on the current status.

“The chief minister reviewed major infrastructure projects which are ongoing. Most of the projects have the Centre’s approval and he has asked us to complete the other processes within three months. He also expressed displeasure over the delay in projects and asked us to maintain the time line. He was also concerned about some projects not keeping up with the deadlines which might turn out into cost escalation,” an official from Mantralaya said on condition of anonymity.

The war room was set up by the chief minister last year to note the progress of infrastructure projects. Periodic reviews were conducted by the war room officials with the help of a professional team. It was expected that discussions and reviews would remove bottlenecks for the projects.

However, after review, it was found that all the major projects have missed their deadlines.
