With a massive crowd gathered to welcome actor Sanjay Dutt outside Yerwada jail, both the local police and SRPF force had to be called in to control it. Actor Salman Khan too had reportedly sent four of his bodyguards to ensure Dutt’s safety when he came out of jail.

After entering the city from Pune, Dutt first visited Siddhivinayak temple. He used the back entrance of the temple around 11.30 am to avoid the bulk of worshippers and the temple authorities ensured that he could have a “darshan” peacefully. The actor left the temple within 15 minutes.

Dutt then visited the grave of his mother, late actor Nargis, around 12.30 pm to pay his respects and his fans followed him even to the graveyard Badakabarastan. He finally left for his home around 1 pm with his fan following in tow. However, there was already a huge gathering of fans at the actor’s residence, waiting to welcome “Sanju baba”. A special band was hired and the place was decorated to greet Dutt. People were seen cheering and dancing to celebrate the actor’s return. Many were seen getting emotional and in tears after they caught a sight of the actor. A family had come all the way from Jabalpur to catch a glimpse of the actor.

While Dutt went hopping across the city, the SRPF police, incharge of his security, got into a heated argument with media persons who were trying to shoot as much of the actor as possible. This led to a major chaos and the police eventually had to use lathi charge on the crowd.

Some of them had come from as far as Jabalpur in MP to welcome him. However, some used the crowd to steal mobile phones from the people gathered there. The Khar police station has registered 12 cases of mobile theft cases.
