HSC, SSC results to be out May-end
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has hinted that both the HSC and SSC board exam results may be declared by the end of May. While confirming that the assessment and moderation work is almost complete and result preparation work will start soon, board officials have said that as the supplementary exam for SSC students is to be held in July, both results will be declared by May end so that there is sufficient time for students to verify their marks and apply for the supplementary exam.
Last year, school education minister Vinod Tawde had announced that the state wanted to ensure that students who fail in SSC board exams do not lose a year; hence the supplementary exam that previously was held in October/November was conducted in July. Last year nearly 1,35,000 students who had failed in the board exams appeared for the supplementary exam. The exams saw a 25.37 pass percentage ensuring that around 35,000 students were able to secure admission to junior colleges in the same year.
An official from the Pune board office said, “While previously the board declared the HSC results by the end of May and the SSC results in the first or second week of June students did not have sufficient time to apply for verification of marks. Hence Mr Tawde has asked the board to see if the SSC results can be announced along with the HSC results itself.”
Gangadhar Mhamanae, chairman, MSBSHSE, confirmed the development and said that the board was trying its best to comply. “The assessment and moderation work is nearly complete and result preparation work will start soon. If the results are ready, then we may be able to declare both results by the end of May,” said Mr Mhamane.
The results like last year will be declared online and students will get their marksheets from their respective schools and colleges after a week. Students applying for the FYJC online admission will be able to use the online marks to apply for the online admission process.
