The Gujarat police visited the city on Monday and met the Kurla police to verify information about the six Mumbai-based youths who were detained by the Vadodara police on Sunday.

A senior police official from the Vadodara police while talking to The Asian Age on phone said, “This afternoon we visited the houses of all the six men and checked their documents. In our verification, we found nothing wrong, and now we are travelling back to Vadodara and after reaching there, we will take the final call about them.”

The police on Sunday had detained six persons in Vadodara after the local people complained about their alleged “suspicious” movements.

A local social activist Ejaz Shah said that after seeing the news about the boys who were detained by the Vadodara police, the locals decided to go to the police station, and furnish all the necessary identity proofs of the youths. “On Sunday, the Gujarat police and ATS officials came to our area to verify the documents of the boys, and to take statements. Again Monday morning, the local cops came to our area to check the mobile and laptops of the youths,” said Mr Shah.
