An Air India Mumbai-Ahmedabad flight with 206 passengers took off after a delay of nearly four hours due to a technical snag on Sunday, informed airport sources. The flight was scheduled to depart from Mumbai airport at around 6.30 pm but at the very last moment before take-off, a technical snag was detected in the aircraft so, the aircraft was grounded till around 10.20pm on Saturday. In the meantime, passengers of the aircraft had to wait at the airport terminal area and later, the aircraft took off with all passengers at around 10.25 pm.

This is not the first time that the national carrier has experienced a flight delay, either due to last minute error or non-availability of cabin crew. Similarly, on Saturday, AI 144 which was scheduled to depart at 6.30 pm, avoided starting the boarding process on time and according to passengers, no announcement was made about delay of the flight.

Prath Mino complained about the delay on Twitter saying, “@airindiain sis (sister) n (and) 4 month old baby traveling on AI-144 to amd (Ahmedabad) sitting on ground nearly 2 hours past std (scheduled time of departure) without much info from crew-". Another passenger Nikunj Simariya tweeted at about 9.51pm saying, “Schedule time was 6.00 pm and not yet departed. No answer. No water served since an hour”. A spokesperson of the airline said the flight was delayed due to a technical glitch.
