Government mulls turning all PHCs digital, pilot project on
The state government is considering converting all Primary Health Centres (PHCs) across the state into Digital PHCs in a systematic manner. According to minister for public health Dr Deepak Sawant, the project will initially be implemented in 4 to 5 PHCs in each Talukas as a pilot project.
Dr Manisha Mahajan from Jalgaon district has transformed the PHC in Patonda in Chalisgaon Taluka into a Digital PHC and minister Dr Sawant has appreciated her project. Dr Mahajan on Friday made a presentation at Vidhan Bhavan before the minister on how a rural PHC can be transformed into a digital one and can be accessed from any corner of the world.
Dr Sawant while appreciating the project, assured to implement the scheme across the state in phases.
“Digital PHC is a nice initiative and Maharashtra will introduce it across the state. We will consider implementing it on a pilot basis in few PHCs across the state,” said Mr Sawant adding, “we will choose at least five PHCs from each Taluka to transform it into digital PHC.”
