Fresh case against NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam
NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam allegedly threatened to kill and abused the chief medical officer of Arthur Road Jail.

NCP MLA Ramesh Kadam allegedly threatened to kill and abused the chief medical officer of Arthur Road Jail. Mr Kadam has been lodged in Arthur Road Jail ever since he was arrested for alleged corruption in the Annabhau Sathe Mahamandal case.
Officials said the incident occurred when other prisoners, jail officials and CMO Rahul Ghule were talking to each other. Kadam was arguing with the jail authority and doctors that he be sent for treatment for his kidney stones when Mr Ghule said they would take a decision after seeing his medical reports. Also, Kadam was angry because the doctor did not check him for the last two days. Mr Kadam threatened the doctor while he was having lunch in the jail premises on Wednesday.
“Kadam threatened the doctor at the superintendent’s office. The inmate was upset that a guard was not available to accompany him to the hospital. He started abusing the doctor and even threatened to kill him. Our jail authority immediately controlled him and took him to his jail yard,” said an official who witnessed the incident.
The N.M. Joshi Marg police have registered a case against Mr Kadam. “We have registered a case against Kadam under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code, and further probe is underway” said a police officer.
