FIR against ‘obscene’ Kamaal R Khan

Actor-director Kamaal R Khan, also known as KRK, is in trouble again over his social media updates.

Actor-director Kamaal R Khan, also known as KRK, is in trouble again over his social media updates. An FIR was registered against Khan at the Versova police station on Saturday for posting derogatory comments and photos about Bollywood actresses on his Twitter and Facebook accounts.

The FIR was registered against Khan by advocate Rizwan Siddiquee and he has been booked under Sections 354 (outraging a woman’s modesty), 354 A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment), 354 C (voyeurism) 354 D (stalking) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).

Mr Siddiquee stated in his FIR that he had come across obscene content posted by Khan, which led him to inspect the latter’s social media accounts. “Since the period of June 2012 to February 2016, Khan has been posting derogatory remarks and obscene photos on his Twitter account. There are nearly 13 actresses and models against whom he has posted such content,” states the FIR.

Khan, who regularly tweets under his handle KRK@kamalrkhan, was in trouble recently after director Vikram Bhatt put up a Facebook post calling Khan out on his statements about the casting couch. Khan had made certain allegations about a budding actress, who is a cousin of a popular Bollywood actress. Khan had later apologised to Bhatt and also to other actresses.

When contacted, Mr Siddiquee confirmed the FIR and said, “The FIR was filed to protect the larger interest of society and to especially protect the women associated with the film industry, who were seen as soft targets by Mr Kamaal Rashid Khan.” The police haven’t arrested Khan yet.
