Cousin held for Raj Kandhari suicide

Navi Mumbai police on Friday evening arrested Raj Kandhari’s cousin brother for abetting Kandhari’s suicide after they found a letter written by Kandhari in his Vashi office.

Navi Mumbai police on Friday evening arrested Raj Kandhari’s cousin brother for abetting Kandhari’s suicide after they found a letter written by Kandhari in his Vashi office.

The police conducted a search of Kandhari’s residence and Vashi office on Friday. “After his death, his office was closed for two days. On Friday, we got the chance to conduct a search in his office. That’s when we found a letter written by Kandhari in his office cabin. In the letter, he had written about his cousin whom he had thrown out after coming to know that he had committed a fraud.”

According to police, Kandhari had written: “The person (Vipin Thappar) whom I trusted a lot has ditched me so badly that I think I will not be able to overcome it. Whatever loss I am facing, it is because of him. I am in debt because of him and I have lost my confidence. People will harass my family for money after I commit suicide just because of this fraud. I request everyone not to harass my family as they are not responsible for this fraud or their debt.”

Senior PI of Sanpada police station, Anand Hodge, said, “We got his letter after we matched the handwriting with a diary we found in Kandhari’s house. We also checked it with other documents in the office written by him. We then decided to arrest Thappar. We arrested him from his house on Friday evening under section 306 of the IPC”.
