A special court in city on Thursday granted permission to CBI to question Indrani Mukerjea and the two co-accused in jail in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case. The CBI’s application to interrogate Peter Mukerjea will be decided on Friday.
As a chargesheet has not been filed against Indrani’s husband Peter Mukerjea and he will be produced in the magistrate court, the CBI has filed one application before the magistrate’s court. Another application was filed before the special CBI court because Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai’s case has been committed to the sessions court. A CBI official, said both the courts granted them permission to interrogate the accused.
The prosecution said Sheena Bora, Indrani’s daughter from an earlier relationship was killed over monetary and property issues. So far, Peter and Khanna have filed bail applications contending there is no evidence against them. The bail applications are to be heard on Jan. 16.
