It has come to light that comedian Kapil Sharma —who on Friday stirred a major controversy by tweeting that a civic official had demanded bribe from him — has not yet submitted details of the concerned official. This was confirmed by chief vigilance officer, BMC, Manohar Pawar, who on Friday requested the comic actor to furnish the name of the errant official.

Meanwhile, Mr Sharma seems to have landed himself in a spot, what with BMC revealing that he owns yet another property in Goregaon that he is structurally altering without requisite permissions. According to BMC, even Mr Sharma’s ninth floor apartment in Goregaon was earlier served a notice in April under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning (MRTP) Act for unauthorised work. Whereas, his Versova apartment was served notice on July 16 and he was given 24 hours to produce necessary permission papers, failing which, BMC was to demolish illegal portions of the apartment. The civic body however demolished only part of the Versova apartment on August 4.

Asked why BMC took all of 19 days to carry out the demolition, assistant commissioner, K west ward, Parag Masurkar, said that extra time was usually given to apartment owners to put forth their permission copies and justify work they were carrying out.
