While a single-window system for industrial approvals is the most favoured method, Madhya Pradesh has come up with a single-table system to facilitate industrial approvals in just an hour’s time. The move will attract more investments and industries, said chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He attended the on-going Make In India Week event in Mumbai on Wednesday to pitch the state before industrialists and businessmen. He even boasted about attracting Rs 6 lakh crore investment MoUs in recent times for the state, an amount also declared by Maharashtra.
“People talk about a single-window system. But we have a single-table system where my secretaries and I clear business plans in an hour’s time on every Monday. So, I appeal you to come to the state and engage with us in business. We have all the facilities needed for setting up industries,” Mr Chouhan said during a summit on Madhya Pradesh.
Offering land, water and electricity without hassle to industries, Mr Chouhan read out the overall progress of the state during his tenure. “We have a huge land bank and all the information is available online. You just have to select ‘land’ and click online to get it. This is the best facility we offer, especially when land acquisition is a major problem in India. I assure you 24x7 power supply and abundant water from our rivers. We also have ITI and skill development centres to provide skilled labour for the industries,” Mr Chouhan said. Revealing his plan on food processing industries, the Madhya Pradesh CM said that the state is focusing to get investment in the sector. “Our agriculture growth rate is more than 20 per cent for the last four years. We have worked hard for that. Now, we are planning to have the food processing industry to use our agriculture, horticulture products,” he said.
