Central Railway commissions 11 new FOBs to stop trespassing
The Central Railway (CR), with civic help, has commissioned 11 new foot-over-bridges (FOBs) in the city as part of its initiative to prevent accidents involving those crossing tracks illegally.

The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has planned to construct six FOBs i.e. Currey Road, Govandi-Mankhurd, Mankhurd-Vashi, Sion-Kurla, and Kurla (near level crossing). Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has planned two FOBs; one each at Sanpada (Dutt Mandir) and Turbhe. Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has planned one FOB at Kalva.
CR’s Mumbai division has recently commissioned 11 new FOBs while 10 FOBs are already in progress on its suburban sections. Additionally, 17 new FOBs have been sanctioned and are in progress by MRVC, and nine new public FOBs are sanctioned and in progress by MRVC.
The 11 FOBs commissioned on the Mumbai division include one each at Vitthalwadi, Shahad, Karjat, Kanjurmarg, Reay Road, King’s Circle, Chembur, Chembur-Govandi section, Vidyavihar, Kasaiwada (Kurla) and Mumbra.
