Harbour line commuters travelling to CST and Bandra will have to face inconvenience, what with Central Railway’s last-minute decision of declaring a block on harbour line for the next nine days. The block will partially cancel the first and last trains between Panvel and CST, and completely cancel trains between CST and Andheri and CST and Bandra.

CR, which will have one of the biggest blocks on the suburban system for 72 hours on February 12, 13 and 14, has declared that trains will partially run on harbour due to the block from 1.30 am to 4.30 am from February 3 to February 11 as preparatory measure.

Trains that will be completely cancelled for the next nine days include CST-Andheri which leaves at 04.27am, CST-Bandra at 04.52am, Bandra-CST at 04.30am, and Andheri-CST at 5.17am. On mainline harbour, Panvel-CST at 11.47pm will be restricted up to Vadala while CST-Panvel at 04.23am will run between Nerul and Panvel. The last train from CST to Panvel and first train from Panvel to CST will remain unaffected by the block.

The platforms on Harbour have to be extended and track alignment needs to be changed from nine coach to 12 coach by March or April this year.
