Bus crushes family of seven to death

According to the police, the incident happened on Sunday morning around 5.45 am after their car was hit by a Shivneri AC bus on the highway near Nagroli village in Indapur. The bus driver, Jitendra Khoshe (35), lost control of the vehicle and failed to slow down before the approaching car and crashed into it. This resulted in the family being crushed to death instantly.
The Shivneri bus which had 30 passengers onboard was heading towards Mumbai and the deceased Tambe family was approaching from the opposite direction. The family was native to Peve Village, Ratnagiri but used to live in Dombivali.
API of Mandgao police station Subhash Thakur said, “The family left home from Dombivali around 12.30 am. Around 5.45 am the Shivneri bus driver crashed into them as he could not control the bus’ speed.”
Swati Swapnil Tambe (28) who was the mother of eight-year-old Rushab; Swapnil Rajaram Tambe (37); Surekha Vhiku Tambe (48); Vhikuram Tambe (75) and Santosh Tambe (40) and Praveen Suresh Pathab (29) died on the spot.
The Mangaon police has registered a case against the driver of Shivneri Bus. The two bus drivers Khoshe and R.R. More (42) suffered minor injuries and were taken to Kolar primary health service centre and are stable.
