Days after a city-based builder Shabbir Patel of Oscar builders, from whom drug bust accused Vicky Goswami’s wife Mamta Kulkarni bought flats, has written a letter to Thane police commissioner Parambir Singh denying any links with them.
“I have no links with anyone by the name of Vicky Goswami. The assertion made is absolutely false and unfounded and it is an irresponsible statement made with wanton disregard that is both bad in facts and in law,” builder Patel stated in his letter. While admitting that he had sold the flats to Mamta in 1994, he stated that she was not married at that point of time.
“The four flats were purchased by Mamta Kulkarni (she was not married at that time) and her mother through cheques and there are agreements,” he said. Mr Patel’s legal advisors in the letter stated that it is also to bear in mind that he is not a top city builder.
“He has not carried out development of any property for more than 18 years in Mumbai. In fact, our client is a 64-year-old senior citizen who is leading a retired life. He has no criminal antecedents as well,” ‘Probus Legal’ the legal advisors said.
They said, “He has a long-running dispute with his son, Shadaab Patel, who habitually files false and frivolous cases and as a result created a plethora of cases against our client with the sole intention of extorting monies from him.”
Mr Patel further stated that if the police still needs to conduct an investigation into the purchase of the flat, Shadaab Patel’s relationship with Mamta and Vicky should be investigated.
