Builder death case: Statement of deceased’s family recorded
The government railway police recorded statements of several persons in connection with Amar Bhatia’s death after which they found out that he was in depression a few days before his death.
The police is still working to solve the mystery of death of Bhatia, the director (operations) of Mohan Group of Developers, whose body was found on railway tracks between Ambernath and Badlapur, in January.
The police has recorded statements of 15 people. According to the information provided by Bhatia’s wife, he had not been taking his medicines for blood pressure and diabetes.
According to sources, Bhatia’s wife said that initially he was a disciplined man when it came to his professional and private life. Not only would he have medicines regularly, but also, play with his son, perform puja, exercise etc. regularly. However, just a few days before his death, there was a change in his habits. Bhatia’s wife had dismissed it as the result of family problems, said sources, but was shocked to know of his death without even knowing what the reason behind it was.
Bhatia’s body was brought to the hospital by GRP men who found him lying on the railway tracks between Ambernath and Badlapur railway stations around 1 am on Sunday.
According to government police officials, Bhatia was hit by the Kolkata-bound Duronto Express and suffered multiple injuries. However, they are yet to get a statement of the motorman of Duranto Express.
