Brothel worker falls off balcony during raid
A man received serious injurious after he fell off the second floor of the house where the Mumbai police was conducting a raid.
According to police officials of the social service (SS) branch, around 22.30 on Wednesday, a raid was conducted on a tip-off that a brothel was being run at Noor Mohammad building, second floor, near Congress House in Grant Road.
The police team raided the place, arrested the accused and rescued the women who were present there. It was only when they had returned to their workplaces did they come to know that a man from that house had fallen off the balcony and had been admitted to a hospital.
Speaking on the incident, a police official from DB Marg police station said, “When they realised that the police was conducting a raid, everyone started running helter-skelter. That is when an employee of the brothel, Kumar Shiwanna Gauda (31), fell off the balcony of the building. He has been admitted to Wokhard Hospital.”
An employee of the brothel witnessed the incident and admitted Kumar to a hospital. He has, in his statement to the DB Marg police, said that that police informer Prasadi Dhalu Mandal (29) of SS branch unit had pushed Kumar off the building. Police is currently investigating the matter.
