The Navghar police has arrested a bouncer, Ravikiran Kadam, (28) for killing his 21-year-old colleague, Akash Gohere, over work shifts.

According to the Mulund police, Gohere resided at Koparkhairne, Navi Mumbai.

Gohere worked as a bouncer at the Mulund toll plaza near Anand Nagar for a year. Around 7 am on Monday he arrived at work after which he went to ask his senior that his shift be changed.

Kadam, a Thane resident, was working as a bouncer at the plaza for four years. Police said he used to dominate other colleagues and pick fights.

He rained blows on Gohere’s neck and chest, after which he fell unconscious. Kadam then tried to flee, but locals who had arrived at the spot, nabbed him. They beat up Kadam before handing him over to the police.

Gohere’s maternal uncle Vinod Walmiki said, “Akash was completing his graduation, which he had postponed for two years due to the family’s financial situation. He was doing this job simultaneously. On Monday, after he left home, his father got a call from Akash’s senior officer saying that he was admitted to a hospital. After we went there, we got the news that he had dead. The accused should be severely punished.”
