Unconvinced with documents provided by ethical hacker Manish Bhangale against former revenue minister Eknath Khadse, the Bombay high court on Tuesday asked petitioner’s lawyer to amend the petition and bring in more evidence and deferred it for hearing after four weeks.

When the petition came up for hearing before the division bench of justice Naresh Patil and justice Prakash Naik, the judges found several loopholes in the claims made by the petitioner. In the meantime, a Thane resident, Dilip Prabhakar Sonil intervened and requested the court to dispose of the petition without granting any relief as the petitioner was allegedly seeking publicity. However, the bench has granted time of four weeks to amend his petition. During hearing when the bench asked who is Mehjabeen Shaikh, Bhangale’s lawyer Sanjay Sawant replied that she was Dawood Ibrahim’s wife and he has telephone bill issued by Pakistani company to prove his claim. However, the bench observed that it is more important that what conversation had taken place and not how many times someone had called somebody.

Subsequently, the court asked him to amend the petition and adjourned the hearing.
