The Bombay high court on Friday reprimanded a petitioner for approaching the court too late and refused to stay the release of movie ‘Kya Kool Hain Hum 3’ (KKHH3) on a petition alleging vulgarity and contents of movie against the culture of the nation.
The court however issued notices to seven persons, including the producers, director and writers of the film KKHH3 and sought a response to the public interest litigation seeking a ban on it for alleged vulgar content. The court issued notices to the producers Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, director Umesh Ghadge and writers Milap Zaveri and Mustaq Shaikh apart from Censor Board and Maharashtra government.
The division bench of justices N.H. Patil and G.S. Kulkarni, however, said it cannot stay the release as it had already released on Friday. The judges reprimanded the petitioner Zuber Khan for moving the court late. The petitioner attached photographs of some of the scenes from the movie. He claimed that the film is vulgar and against the culture and ethos of the country. It also said that the trailer of the movie is available on Internet and “It is seen that the said film said to be India’s first porn com.” The petitioner said that the posters are vulgar with semi-nude photos.
When the court scolded Mr Khan for filing petition too late, he told the court that he would amend the petition and also seek a ban on another such film, ‘Mastizaade’, featuring Sunny Leone among others, which is scheduled to be released next week.
