BMC simplifies giving NOC for borewells
As a part of the ‘ease of doing business’ initiative, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has simplified guidelines related to the insecticide department in the construction activities. According to civic officials, the process of giving no-objection certificate (NoC) for borewells, ringwells, fountains, etc, has been made simpler.
Prior to this, the civic body had already improved guidelines related to building, constructions and the public health department. Before the BMC came out with simplified guidelines, it was earlier necessary to obtain an NoC from the insecticide department. According to new guidelines, it is necessary to file self-declaration of complying all guidelines with the insecticide department. The self-declaration system will also be implemented for swimming pools, storage tank and cooling towers for air-conditioned system.
“The insecticide department gives permissions related to pest control for fountains, borewells, ring wells etc. Under the simplification process, the number of guidelines for getting permission for borewells has been reduced to six from 12. In case of ring wells and surface wells the number of permissions have been brought down from 11 to six and from 11 to five respectively,” said a senior civic official.
The application process has also been simplified by eliminating complex conditions. The new guidelines will be made available on the BMC website www.mcgm.gov.in.
