Mainline commuters on Central Railway will have to make their way home via other means on Saturday night due to a block between Sion and Vidyavihar to launch girders. The block means five late night trains towards Kalyan will be cancelled.
The block will mean trains from Kurla’s platform no 1, 2 and 3 will not operate from 12 am to 5 am. A lot of commuters travel late night on Saturday/early Sunday morning, as the next day is a weekly off for most.
Trains cancelled on Saturday night towards Kalyan end will be Dadar-Kalyan 11.17 pm, CST-Kurla 11.48 pm CST-Thane at 11.59 pm, CST-Thane 12.34 am Kurla-Ambernath 04.44 am due to launching of girders between Vidyavihar and Sion.
Affected trains towards CST end on Sunday will be, Thane-CST at 4.20 am, Kalyan-CST at 5.21 am and Ambernath-CST at 5.18 am.
Commuters will also face inconvenience due to partial cancellations: the CST-Thane at 10.47 pm, CST-Thane at 10.59 pm, CST-Thane 11.12 pm will not run from Kurla to Thane.
