BJP MLAs performance poorer than other, congress tops list

The Congress tops the party-wise average score with 76.83 per cent marks. It is followed by the Shiv Sena (63.25 per cent), Samajwadi Party (63.04 per cent), BJP (62.89 per cent) and AIMIM (57.71 per cent).

However, if the number of MLAs of each party is considered, the Congress has only five MLAs, whereas Sena and BJP has 12 MLAs each. The SP and AIMIM has one MLA each. Out of 36 city MLAs, four ministers and newly elected Sena MLA Trupti Sawant were not taken for evaluation.

In the top 10 too, the BJP MLAs are lagging others. All five Congress MLAs figure in the top 10, followed by the Sena and two from the BJP.

Congress MLA Amin Patel (Mumbadevi) topped the list of best performers with 84.33 per cent, followed by Shiv Sena’s Sunil Prabhu (Dindoshi) 80.97 per cent and Congress’ Varsha Gaikwad (Dharavi) 79.40 per cent.

The bottom three performers are BJP’s Ram Kadam (Ghatkopar West) 49.55 per cent, Sena’s Mangesh Kudalkar (Kurla) 53.96 per cent and Ramesh Latke (Andheri East) 54.39 per cent. Mr Kadam has asked only one question in the state Legislative Assembly so far, the report said. BJP’s Bharati Lavekar and Tamil Selvan have asked only 12 questions each. The highest number of questions was asked by Mr Patel (1,055).
