‘Bhujbal is not cooperating’

Directors of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team will reach Mumbai on Wednesday to monitor the Bhujbal case.

Directors of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team will reach Mumbai on Wednesday to monitor the Bhujbal case.

Enforcement Directorate officials had sent three notices to Sameer Bhujbal, but, as he did not not cooperate, they conducted raids in nine of his properties. Sources have claimed that during the raids, officials were able to retrieve some documents related to property and companies, which are being scrutinised. Till now ED officials have recorded the statements of eight people.

Sources said, “Pankaj and Sameer have not been cooperating. Soon, ED officials will take a call about Pankaj Bhujbal’s investigation if he does not appear for the investigation.”

“By giving small intimation, ED officials can arrest Pankaj soon as he did not reply to the notices that have been sent to him,” they added.

ED officials took down the statement of Sameer, who was detained on Monday afternoon, at around 10 pm. Sources said, “He didn’t give proper answers about his financial transactions. None of the answers were satisfactory. The ED has taken bank account details and some more money transaction details, for which he needs to give relevant explanations.”
