Opposition Congress-NCP members in the Assembly tried to attack the state government on Thursday for inducting ‘tainted’ ministers in the recent Cabinet expansion. The House witnessed chaotic scenes and was adjourned twice.
However, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said the Opposition should submit evidences that will be checked and also warned against making it a political agenda.
“The issue has been discussed in both the Houses elaborately. Still to clear any doubt, you give us evidence and papers. I will get them checked. We will take action if there is any substance in it. But if the allegations are politically motivated then we will reply politically, “ Mr Fadnavis said in the House.
The CM’s statement made the opposition withdraw its opposition to the alleged tainted ministers.
Leader of Opposition, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil, alleged minister of state Sambhaji Patil Nilangekar’s name has cropped up in a corruption case.
Objecting to the statement, parliamentary affairs minister Girish Bapat said the issue has been already discussed in the House. “We will not allow the same issue to discuss in the House,” he said.
NCP group leader Jayant Patil shot back, replying, “How can the parliamentary minister say that the government cannot listen to the opposition leader. They will have to listen to him.” This created chaos from both the sides and the Speaker adjourned the House twice.
