Kurla-based chartered accountant Kiran Damle has developed an interactive mobile health application ‘M-Health’ for Android phones to provide 12 major and allied needs pertaining to healthcare facilities that will come in handy during medical emergencies.
According to Mr Damle, the app — which will be launched on Sunday by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis — will cover medical and health services in Mumbai, Thane and Navi Mumbai.
Speaking about the app, Mr Damle said, “The main features of the M-Health App include — hospitals and related services, blood banks, ambulance services, organ donation, healthcare centres, NGOs operating patients helping equipment centres, information on 24 hours pharmacies, generic medicine pharmacies, dialysis centres, nursing services, heart care centres, cancer care centres and NGOs giving financial help for medical purposes to patients in need of help.”
Mr Damle said patients or their relatives in need of blood from any blood group can after logging in the details of the patient, blood group required and the hospital details get a list of 10 blood donors within the vicinity of the hospital.
Besides this the donors too will get messages on their mobile phone about urgent requirement for certain blood groups when necessary. Mr Damle said often relatives of patients in unfamiliar localities often find it tough to locate nearby 24 hour pharmacies and pharmacies selling generic medicines. Another problem faced at times of medical emergencies is to locate ambulance services closeby, he said.
