A case of molestation of a female police clerk has been registered against a senior anti-corruption bureau (ACB) clerk in Sarkarwada police station, nearly 18 months after the victim’s complaint. The victim wrote to senior officials, including the state home secretary, and finally the case was registered on Sunday.
A case of molestation of a female police clerk has been registered against a senior anti-corruption bureau (ACB) clerk in Sarkarwada police station, nearly 18 months after the victim’s complaint. The victim wrote to senior officials, including the state home secretary, and finally the case was registered on Sunday. The complainant is a 29-year-old clerk working with the ACB. After the incident, she was asked to withdraw the complaint against the accused and was transferred. The victim then sought information under RTI was told that inquiry is in progress. The first incident occurred on 29 June, 2012 and Pawar continued his advances with the complainant even after she wrote to ACB Nashik, DCP Dr Sashikant Mahavarkar, and IG, Nashik range, Dhananjay Kamlakar. “No arrests have yet been made in the case but the accused will be arrested. We have registered a case under directions of our senior officials,” said assistant police inspector P.P. Wasave.
