There will be 32 more Army officials to provide security to the Indian skies as they received the coveted Army Aviation Wings during the 24th passing out parade of the Combat Army Aviation Training School (CATS) Gandhinagar Airfield here Saturday. Chief guest Lt Gen K.H. Singh handed over the ‘Silver Cheetah’ trophy for exceptional merit to Capt Vikas Bhambo. Commandant A.K. Suri and Col Kiran Gode and other officials too were present.

The programme began with a parade by the officers. Other officers who received merit trophies are P.K. Gaur Memorial Trophy to Devanshu Paliwal, Air Observation course Trophy to Capt Ajay Kumar and Capt R K Sharma Trophy to Capt Rajendra Sanghav.

Lt Gen Singh, in his speech told the officers to show courage and glory for the Army. He said that the Combat Aviation Arm has done exemplary service and the new officers should keep up this tradition.

A demonstration of the Cheetah, Chetak and Dhruv helicopters took place. The demonstrations included air dropping from 10,000 ft, providing weapons, airlifting injured personnel and airlifting personnel to other places, among others.
