Kashimira police arrested five accused on Saturday morning in connection with the attack on a 35-year-old Shiv Sena leader on October 27. The arrested accused are also affiliated to the Shiv Sena.

Kashimira police arrested five accused on Saturday morning in connection with the attack on a 35-year-old Shiv Sena leader on October 27. The arrested accused are also affiliated to the Shiv Sena. According to police officials the accused and victim had some grudges.

The Sena leader, Anil Chavan, was attacked by two bike-borne men who fired at him in Mira road area of Thane rural late night on Tuesday. The Sena leader suffered a bullet injury to his head and is battling for his life at Bhaktivedan Hospital.

His condition is out of danger now, sources said. A police officer requesting anonymity said, “To find the culprit we created two teams and recovered CCTV footages from every possible area. In one of footages we found the bike number and face of the culprits. We informed every police station and patrolling teams about them.

Finally on Saturday morning we managed to arrest two of the five accused in the case.”Avinash Patil, a Shiv Sena worker and his son Sandesh Patil, the two arrested, are the main accused in the case. The other three wanted accused are their accomplices.
